Vince Deleuze is a history buff. The type who could look at a certain piece and tell you its time period, condition, and purpose. One might think he has been working in the antique business for years, which, in a way he has. Owner and operator of DeLeuze General Hauling since 2001, Vince has always kept his eyes open for those special treasures that deserve a second (or third, or fourth) life.
And now, with the opening of One Man’s Junk at 926 5th Avenue in downtown Coraopolis, Vince is bringing his treasures to the public for purchase.
Opening on June 12, 2020, One Man’s Junk offers an eclectic mix of furniture, kitchenware, home-goods, and nostalgic mid-century pieces of memorabilia.
“There are already established antique shops in this area, so I thought One Man’s Junk would fit right in,” he said.
His shop joins what is quickly becoming the Coraopolis Antique Trail, which includes beloved storefronts Emma Jean’s Relics, Vintage Revival, Off the Avenue Antiques, and fellow newcomer Patina & Soul.
He continued, “It’s easier to begin a new business in Coraopolis than most other neighborhoods [because] there is a sense of community here.”
Vince attributes the decent foot traffic to the sidewalk community that the Coraopolis business district offers. Tell your friends near and far about the growing antique scene in Coraopolis and make a plan to visit One Man’s Junk soon! The store is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm and can be found on Facebook @OneMansJunkCory.
